Getting started

Create Your First League

Create a LeagueFlow league record so teams, schedules, standings, and public pages have a home.

Beginner / 10 minutes / 3 min read

This tutorial creates the first league inside an organization. By the end, you will have a league dashboard where the rest of the setup work can happen.

Prerequisites

  • You can sign in to LeagueFlow.
  • You have access to an organization.
  • You are an organization Owner or Admin.
  • Organization management is available for your workspace. If the organization is in view-only mode, restore access before creating a league.
  • You know the league name, season, division, location, dates, status, visibility, and any notes you want to add.

Open the organization workspace

Go to the organization that will own the league.

In the Leagues section, select Create league. If this is the first league, the section also explains that creating a league opens team, schedule, standings, and announcement workflows.

Leagues

Ongoing leagues stay first, upcoming leagues stay close behind, and completed leagues remain available without crowding active work.

Choose a league cover

The new league screen is labeled New league. The first area is League cover.

A cover photo is optional. Add one when you already have a banner or event image ready. Select Choose cover, then use Position league cover photo to crop the image to the 820 x 312 ratio.

If the cover upload fails after the league is created, the league still exists. Add the cover later from Edit league.

Add notes if needed

Open More league details if you want to add more context.

Use Description for a short summary of the competition. Use Rules summary for format, overtime, roster, or operating notes. Use Points system for a short scoring rule, such as Win = 2, Loss = 0.

These notes do not replace team, phase, schedule, or standings setup. Those workflows happen after the league is created.

Save the league

Select Create league. The button in the page header and the button at the bottom of the form both submit the same league form.

LeagueFlow opens the new league dashboard after the league is created. The first dashboard view shows the cover area, Back to organization, Edit league, shortcut cards for teams, games, players, standings, leaderboards, and sponsors, plus the Public sharing card.

Expected result: the organization has a new league dashboard, and the league appears in the organization workspace as a league card with Open dashboard, Teams, Schedule, Sponsors, and Edit actions.

If something blocks the workflow

  • If Create league is locked, check the organization plan state and active-league limit.
  • If a paid plan checkout is still pending, wait for backend confirmation before expecting access to change.
  • If the cover upload fails, continue with the saved league and add the image later from Edit league.
