Create Your First League

Create a league under an organization and use the league dashboard as your operations hub.

4 min read

A league belongs to one organization. Create the league first, then use its workspace for teams, schedule, standings, leaderboards, announcements, Highlights, sponsors, registration, and public sharing.

Before you start

  • You need access to the organization.
  • League create and edit operations require organization Owner or Admin access.
  • Expired-trial organizations remain readable, but management actions are blocked until access is restored.
  • Prepare the league name, season, division, location, start date, end date, status, visibility, and any short notes about rules or scoring.

Create the league

Open the organization workspace

Start from the organization that will own the league. In the Leagues section, select Create league.

If the organization is in view-only mode, the workspace shows Upgrade to manage leagues instead of Create league.

Add a cover photo if you have one

The New league screen starts with League cover. A cover photo is optional, but it helps identify the league on the private dashboard and public league pages.

Use Choose cover to select a JPEG, PNG, or WebP image. LeagueFlow opens Position league cover photo so you can crop the image to the 820 x 312 banner ratio.

If the cover upload fails after the league is created, the league still exists. Add the cover later from Edit league.

Complete quick setup

Fill in the main league fields:

  • League name is required.
  • Season can be a year or season label, such as 2026.
  • Official league timezone controls the official game dates and times. It starts with the organization's default for new leagues.
  • Division can separate groups such as Junior, Senior, Open, or 18U.
  • Location is the main league location.
  • Start date and End date define the expected season window.
  • Status can be Upcoming, Ongoing, or Completed.
  • Visibility can be Private or Public.

Keep a new league Private until teams, schedule, and public-facing details are ready.

Use the timezone where games are officially played, not the organizer's current location. Changing the timezone later does not move existing timestamps, but it can change how their official league times are displayed.

Save and open the dashboard

Select Create league. The button in the page header and the button at the bottom of the form both submit the same league form.

After the league is created, LeagueFlow opens the league dashboard. The dashboard shows the cover area, Back to organization, Edit league, dashboard shortcut cards for teams, games, players, standings, leaderboards, and sponsors, plus the Public sharing card.

The league also appears in the organization workspace as a league card with Open dashboard, Teams, Schedule, Sponsors, and Edit actions.
